I currently have 550cc natrelle silicone implants, 2nd BA July 2012. My first BA I was given 325cc saline implants in February 2004. I am ready to have my implants removed as they are heavy and I'm ready to be natural again. I am a petite woman, 5'4", 120lbs. I had my first consult with a PS who Said that I would not get a desirable result with just explanation and lift. Is this my only option smaller implant to achieve natural small breasts again?
Answer: Is breast implant removal with lift possible to achieve small natural breasts again? Thank you for the question and pictures. Accurate answers to your questions would require an understanding of what you mean by “natural small breasts”. As you can imagine, these terms may mean different things to different people; therefore, it will be important for you to communicate your goals carefully, with your carefully selected plastic surgeon. In my practice, I ask patients to use as many “visual aids” as possible during the communication process. Once you have shown your plastic surgeon what you would like to achieve, he/she can let you know whether or not your goals or achievable/realistic. Keep in mind, that much of what can be achieved will depend on how much native breast tissue is present and how skillfully the procedure is carried out. Generally speaking what breasts look like after explantation depends on several factors such as: the quality of skin elasticity (the better the elasticity the better the skin will bounce back), the size of the implants used (the larger the implant the more trouble you may have with redundant skin), and the amount of breast tissue present at this time (which may have changed since the time of your breast augmentation). Life experience since your breast augmentation procedure, such as pregnancy or weight gain weight loss, will potentially influence the factors discussed above. If you take these factors into consideration and apply them to your specific circumstances you may get a good idea of what to expect after the implants are removed. Again, I would suggest that you select your plastic surgeon carefully; it is likely, that working together you will come up with the best plan of action. Answer: Breast revision Natural proportional breasts cannot be achieved for you with just a lift. Consider smaller implants for more normal proportions. Good luck...

Answer: Implant removal and lift It is hard to properly guide you without examining you and assessing the skin quality and amount of breast tissue that you have. Normally after removing very large implants there is a large void that will require some volume added to achieve a relatively youthful breast with good shape and contour. I would recommend removal of implants with a lift and fat grafting to add a small amount of volume so the breasts dont look completely deflated

Answer: Can you get smaller natural breasts by removing implants and doing a lift? I do a lot of breast implant removals with breast lift. It is a great surgery, for those who are good candidates, and allows you to get back to "all you" with a higher breast. The key to a successful surgery is how much natural tissue you have, and if you have enough tissue to have a safe breast lift and enough tissue to allow for some shaping. 1. You need to see a plastic surgeon who does a lot of breast revisions. The physical exam gives a lot of information. 2. If you have saline implants, you can preoperatively deflate the implant, which allows your natural tissue to expand and the breast may rebound some of the drooping. Unfortunately, when you have silicone implants, we cannot preoperatively deflate you. 3. If you do Vectra 3D imaging, you can approximate what your natural tissue volume is by estimating your current volume and subtracting the volume of your implant. The key for you is #1.
