Can Hormones Cause Hair to Grow Back After Laser Hair Removal?

I understand that we are born with the number of hair follicles that we will have in our life time and that hormones stimulate certain hairs to become thicker, coarser from puberty, menopause, etc.

If I have GentleLase (Alexandrite) hair removal and become virtually hairless, can hormones, say from menopause or pregnancy cause the hair to return even though the total area, such as the legs, was without hairs prior to the hormone change?
