In regards to High Superior tension abdominoplasty, from a leyman's perspective, it seems that this is the preferable technique for abdominoplasty to avoid complications like seromas, necrosis etc and potentially eliminates need for the drains as the technique focuses on closing the dead spaces. Do most plastic surgeons employ this technique when performing a standard abdominplasty and if not, why? I like the idea of the tension being transferred to the umbilicus level as opposed to the suprapubic area as the first is more well vascularized. My biggest concern is necrosis and that technique seems to diminish the risk substantially.
