High profile implants are not used more often. Some surgeons may use them more than others. That decision should be made by you and your plastic surgeon. I use both high profile and moderate profile depending on the patient's desires and her frame. There are many qualified plastic surgeons. There is no "best" for all procedures or all patients. Dear Kate, They are NOT. High profile (saline) implants are USUALLY used in women who desire more breast projection (IE forward prominence) but whose chest is narrow and would not allow an aesthetic placement of the wider base MODERATE PLUS or MP breast implants. Fitting the woman with a breast implant is an art.
