Yes, posterior means “back.” On your head, it is the area just below the crown and above the nape of your neck. The posterior region also extends to both sides of the center of this area. The donor area for a hair transplant is usually the posterior region. This is the area on the side and back of the head, typically along a line 1 centimeter above the ears or above the occipital bump.
I Heard a few Doctor Mentioning the Posterior Scalp, is This Region Located Around the Occipital Bump Area?

Definition of the posterior scalp
The posterior scalp is literally the back of the scalp. Posterior means the back. When you hear the word posterior scalp, however, they are probably referring to the crown. This is the area where most men lose hair first along with the front hairline.
If your doctor is speaking of the posterior scalp as the donor area (the area that the grafts are taken from), this means the back of the scalp where hair is rarely lost. Grafts taken from this area, along with the sides, will last and grow hair from the transplanted follicles until a very old age, maybe throughout your life.
External Occipital Protuberance
The "Bump" in the back of your head is anatomically called the "External Occipital Protuberance" and for most people happens to be located within the Donor Area for Hair Transplantation. Other areas of the scalp can also be used for harvesting hair, however, the back of the scalp is the most common place for this.
