I got permanent retention but still my ortho asked me to put hawley retainer on both the sides as my premolars are not touching and also he doesn't want to take any risk in my case. After removal of braces, my dentist asked me to do some essential fillings. I did. But after that my retention plates are not fitting. I just want to know. Is it very much necessary to wear my retainers? Coz due to badly fitting retainers, I am getting very bad jaw pain as well as earaches.
