I had surgery2/25.All my life I dream of this surgery, because since early age I had low bugs under my eyes.I am not Asian, but I have high cheek bones.Finaly I done my dream surgery and I am so upset. Endotine made my cheeks look too high and unnatural. One side swollen more. I feel ribbons near corner of eyes. My vision got worse and clear cornea got "folder" in corner of eye. What I should do? Can we take Endotine out? When it better to do? Before it heals or after, or wait when dissolves? Tx

Unhappy with Endotine

The usual issues bringing patients in for revisions earlier than the usual 6 months are pain from the Endotine hooks, palpability underneath the brow or cheek, pain from the implant, increased intermalar distance (distance between perceived center of cheek mass), perceived odd appearance or significant asymmetry. Most revisional cases involve removal of hardware and performance of alternative types of brow or cheek elevation.

Unhappy with Endotine Cheek Lift

Your concerns are related to the post-op swelling (you're less than 1 month after surgery) or the positioning of your cheeks. This may have occurred regardless of the method of fixation, whether or not Endotine was used. Asymmetry of swelling is not unusual. Let healing progress for several months before evaluating your result. I am very satisfied with the Endotine technique - I would not recommend removal. Have an eye examination by your surgeon or an ophthalmologist.   more

Unhappy with endotine after 1 month.

You should wait for 2-3 months and see if it is resolving. If you have lost confidence in your surgeon, get a second opinion. All that you mention can be just the swelling, so be patient.

Suture Suspension Midface Lifts Do Not Have Device Palpability Issues

Feeling the Endotine device is one of the most common complaints about this device and method of a midface lift. If you like the result but the device palpability is the main concern, then time will eventually solve that problem. (although it will be at least 6 months if not longer until the sharp edges will dissipate) If the result in addition to the device is a concern, then you need to consider removing the Endotine and using other methods of midface suspension and lifting which are not... more

Unhappy w/ Endotine Results. What are My Options?

Thanks for the question and concerns. I stopped using the "endotine" years ago because of those complaints. I recommend immediate removal by re operation. Waiting for dissolving could take over 18 months. From MIAMI

Unhappy with Endotine cheek lift.

Difficult to advise without a picture. But, it is still too early in the healing process to make a comprehensive judgement about the result. It takes 6-12 months to heal completely. By that time, things will settle down, swelling will go away and you may like the result. Tissues relax with time specially in face.
