I went out tonight with some friends to show off my new look. A girl was smoking right next to me and now my nose feels congested and sore. Could this exposure affect my long term results? I am not a smoker nor do I surround myself with smokers very often.

Second hand smoke after rhinoplasty
Tobacco smoke even as a second hand exposure is not good for the liniing of the nose, airway or sinuses. You should not have any longterm consequences from this one time exposure, however you should avoid frequent or prolonged exposure as a rule. Good luck.

Second hand smoke will not affect your rhinoplasty
You should heal safely even in the presence of second hand smoke after a rhinoplasty procedure. Of course you could use the procedure as leverage to encourage someone who cares about you to quit. Might just be worth a try.
Best of luck,

The effects of second hand smoke 6 weeks after Rhinoplasty
You should not have any problems with a single exposure to second hand smoke this far away from your surgery. The congestion can be simply an allergic response to the smoke but this would not change your longterm outcome.
