Answer: Hair growth on a cut Cuts and lacerations on the hair bearing scalp runs the risk of loss of hair in that particular area. In your case the wound has already been stitched so the best possible way to deal with it is to allow the wound to heal completely first and then let the ensuing scar settle down. You may even try treatments for scar reduction in the form of massages using silicone based creams. Once the scar has softened and has been allowed to mature for about 3-6 months, hair transplantation can be done to cover it. Hair growth in the transplanted region is suboptimal owing to the nature of the scar bed sometimes a repeat hair transplantation to add density to the area may be required. Trichophytic closure of skin lacerations or surgical wounds of the scalp allows hair to grow through the scar and eventually hiding the scar. This technique is only possible in fresh wounds and can also be done during scar revision surgeries..

Answer: Hair Transplants for Scalp Scars Hair won't grow back where the stitches were placed - that is correctthere are a few options to camouflage or reduce the appearance of the scar1. You can get hairs transplanted into the scar. It may take a few sessions but that is a good option. Hairs that are transplanted into a scar don't grow quite as well as when transplanted into an area without scarring2. You might also consider scalp micropigmentation. (SMP). Essentially the scar can be tattooed to make it look like you have hair.
