What's the best way to grow out my hair coloring and get back my natural gray hair color?

I want to go natural w/ my gray hair but the brown coloring that I have right now makes it such an ugly contrast. My hair is short and I'm looking for a solution to graying "gracefully" and beautifully. Are there any answers to my problem?
