Help! I just don't know what to do. My left eyelid droop and right is high, which I don't mind but wish the other one was too. Everything I've read says this can't be fixed but the Dr says he can. I just don't know if I really want anything else injected in my face. I already suffer from several illnesses so I know steroids blow me up. So how can a steroid shot counteract this droop? I tried to add the photo but I kept getting an error message. Sorry.
Answer: Do not have steroid to correct the droop. Steroids have no effect on the treatment. This raises concerns that your injecting physician does not know what they are doing. It is possible to sometimes do a treatment that counter act the droop. However, if you are talking about true upper eyelid ptosis or brow ptosis, it is unlikely that more Dysport will address the problem. Often the best treatment is tincture of time. If you have a true upper eyelid ptosis from Dysport this can sometimes be helped using a medication called iopodine. This drop can stimulate a muscle under the eyelid that helps open the eye a small amount. Consider consulting an oculoplastic surgeon in your area for a second opinion. The American Society for Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery maintains a region directory on their website which will help you identify a well qualified surgeon (ASOPRS dot org).

CONTACT NOW Answer: Can a steroid correct the droop eyelid side effect of Dysport? In general, a steroid will not help correct a drooping eyelid following treatment with Dysport. Apraclonidine eye drops may help. Apraclonidine is an alpha-andrenergic agonist eye drop. It can have the following effects:1) Cause the muscles to contract2) Elevate the upper lidI would recommend speaking with your physician about this option. A drooping eyelid generally goes back to normal after the Dysport wears off. I hope this information helps, and I wish you the best of luck.

Answer: Eyebrow Droop After Dysport The eyebrow can drop after Dysport in the forehead. The muscle in the forehead raises the brow. It is overly weakened by Dysport, the eyebrow may fall. Depending on the previous injection technique, additional Dysport around the eye may help with the eyebrow droop.Steroid injections will not help with your issue.

Answer: Eyelid droop after dysport Unfortunately, dysport can not be reversed with steroids. You will have to wait for the medication to wear off, usually in about 3 months. In the mean time if the droop is significant and/or interfering with vision there are eye drops that can help elevate the eyelid. I recommend that you discuss this with your injecting physician to see if you are a candidate.Best Regards,Dr. Stutman

Answer: Drooping of the eyelid after Dysport will NOT be improved with steroids. Iopidine is useful if you have eyelid ptosis. It is a temporary fix and needs to be applied as a drop 2-3 times per day. Other than time, nothing else if effective. If you have brow ptosis, then injecting more Dysport in the brows or depressor supracilia can help. Steve Weiner, MD, Facial Plastic Surgeon.
