I keep hearing about it and have been told that many of the Hollywood faces that look so good are Sculptra users... what's the benefit of this injectable and other than lasting longer, why does it work better than other fillers?

Why patients love Sculptra

Why patients love Sculptra. Most are attracted to the gradual results that last up to two years. This is a volumetric filler as opposed to hyaluronic acid fillers that are used to fill lines. It does require a series of treatments in the office but these are typically well tolerated. If you choose to have Sculptra treatments, seek an experienced injector for the work. Why Sculptra is Great

First of all, it is also important to know that the use of Sculptra is restricted by the company. Only skin specialists such as Dermatologists and Plastic Surgeons are allowed to inject Sculptra and only after appropriate training. Sculptra is used for facial contouring to correct problems due to volume loss and can also be used for enhancing cheekbones, chin and jaw line. Sculptra is injected just beneath the skin, forming a scaffold on which your own collagen grows. It is ideal for deeper... more

Sculptra achieves subtle, natural yet effective facial lifting

While facelift surgeries are immediately gratifying, there is significant downtime with small risks of scarring, infection and everyone you know would realize you have something dramatically done. Sculptra injection by an experienced physician injector would allow you to achieve subtle, natural yet effective facial liquid face lifting by replenishing volume strategically and to provide collagen structures above your cheek bones to better defy force of gravity.

Sculptra is one of the best "Volumizer" around

Sculptra is unique in composition and result. It creates great volume to the face and lasts 4 times as long as other fillers after full treatment. It takes several treatments and can seem expensive at first, but the cost in the long run is much lower than other fillers that last a shorter amount of time. It is a great way to volumize the face and give a non-surgical facelift. Please make sure you go to an experienced injector because not everyone is familiar with Sculptra and if done... more

Sculptra and aging

Volume, volume, volume is the reason to use Sculptra. At around the age of 35 we stop making as much collagen (volume). You can think of the facial structures as a table and the skin as the table cloth. As we age the table gets smaller and the table cloth has no place to go so it starts to fold on itself (wrinkle). So you can make the table cloth smaller (face lift) or you can make the table bigger again (Sculptra). Many times it requires a combination of volume and surgery, but many... more

What is so great about sculptra?

Sculptra Aesthetic is a substance that stimulates the formation of your own facial collagen.  As we age, we lose volume in the face in many areas.  Sculptra is great because you can address all those areas at one time, while with a product like Juvaderm, you would need to use several tubes.  When the collagen is stimulated it gradually builds up the volume and adds fullness to the facial wrinkles.  The injections are done in three to four sessions. ... more

Sculptra means volume and a more youthful face.

As you age volume is lost in the face. Replacing volume can turn back the clock in a very natural way. Improvement is organic and gradual over several months. Sculptra is actually not a "filler" but a biostimulant. That means that it works by stimulating your own tissues to plump up. Fillers certainly have their place but I am happy that we have Sculptra when significant facial volume is needed.

Sculptra Aesthetic injections are a good option for facial aging, to avoid plastic surgery

Sculptra Aesthetic are quick office injections performed in the office via local anesthesia. Sculptra stimulates the face to build collagen. Results are NOT immediate, rather gradually develop over time. Treatments are repeated approximately every 2 months, as needed, until a desired result is achieved. Once achieved, touch-up treatments may be need only every 1-2 years. Sculptra can only be placed in certain areas of the face, such as the cheeks. As with all the plastic surgery... more

Sculptra as a volumizer

Sculptra is unlike fillers in that it does not give immediate results. It is designed as a collagen stimulator so I refer to it as a "seed." The body responds to it over months and most patients undergo two to three treatments separated by several weeks in between. The long term augmentation which can be up to two years for some patients, comes after these three treatments and that has to be kept in mind when comparing the 8 to 12 months of duration with one treatment of a... more

Sculptra is great for what it does.

Sculptra is an important filler for volume restoration in the aging face.  It is a stimulator of the body's own collagen.  This process is slow and usually requires a few sessions but the results are natural and last two or more years.  Sculptra can be combined with other techniques such as laser resurfacing, neurotoxins (ex Botox), other fillers and even surgery to achieve maximum results in rejuvenating the aging face.

Great About Sculptra

This injectable, SCULPTRA, is a stimulator more than a filler. The poly lactic acid helps stimulate collagen production in the areas injected over a 3 to 6 month time lapse. It requires at least 3 to 4 every 3 week visit for an injection session. As stated here on REALSELF.com only 55% are happy with the results, not to good a review. I like the Stem cell systems like, Adistem or Selphyl, seems more biologic and better rresults IF done correctly.

Sculptra: a great option for facial rejuvenation

I really do like Sculptra and have used it personally for my own facial rejuvenation.  It's done in stages and the results are gradual.  The volume replacement it produces can lasts longer than 2 years, so it's the longest-lasting non-permanent filler we have.

Sculptra is very unique

Sculptra gives a gradual and natural softening of the shadows and hollows that make us look older. The results are slow (often 6 months to appreciate), but the effect lasts about 2 years.

More of a Voluminizer

Sculptra restores volume more than it  acts as a filler. Hence it is not laid into the naso-labial folds, around the mouth or eyes. Scultra is designed to restore volume to the cheeks, jaw-line and temples. Sculptra is done in stages, often requiring 2-3 treatment sessions. As Dr. Placik mentions it is made from the same material as dissolving sutures. This material causes a reaction which sets off the growth of collagen. The effect lasts 2-3 years.  I am not privy to which... more

Sculptra is long lasting

Sculptra is good for people who need a lot of volume and are looking for very long lasting results. Sculptra requires a number of treatments over time and there are risks of forming scar tissue underneath the skin. The best filler really depends on the needs you have. For example, Sculptra is not a good product to use in the lips or underneath the eyes. Sometimes the media makes a product seem more popular than it really is.

Sculptra

I am not so soure that it is as popular as you describe. It may just be great Public Relations. In simplified terms, Sculptra is essentially a modification of the same material used for absorbably stitches that make it more difficult to absorb. This makes if persist in the body from 2-5 years.
