Gore-Tex Implants In Facial Plastic Surgery

What is the main purpose for the use of Gore-Tex strips in facial plastic surgery today? Are 2mm Gore-Tex strips useful in creating philtral columns? Is this an antiquated technique?

Gortex implants not preferred.

Gortex implants into the nose are more of an antiquated technique that was popular approximately 20 years ago. We no longer use Gortex due to multiple complications that occur from them. Gortex implants in the face can become infected, dislodged, shift, and rejected by the body, so it is best not to use them.
