Will I Get a Good Result from Tummy Tuck?

I have had 6 babies who are all over 9 lbs, and have major muscle seperation. I have hated my stomach since having my first child, and wish to get it fixed. Do you believe I would recieve a good result with a Tummy Tuck and muscle repair?

Candidate for tummy tuck

You are a classic candidate for a fully tummy tuck. There is loose skin and loose fascia, which only a full tummy tuck are capable of fixing.

You are a great candidate for a tummy tuck because...

You are an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck and should expect a dramatic result. The muscle separation is significant and may require more than simple midline plication for full correction. Occasionally an oblique muscle tightening will help as well. The excess skin and stretch marks are centrally located and will be removed and tightened significantly. The umbilicus can be made much more attractive. see video

Tummy Tuck is the Procedure of Choice

Absolutely a tummy tuck.  You are the perfect candidate for a tummy tuck.  Loose skin, and separation of the muscles.  You will be able to get rid of a lot of the stretch marks and all that loose skin. Good luck.

Good Candidate For Tummy Tuck

Yes, based on your photo, I believe you are a good candidate for a tummy tuck. Patients who benefit the most from a tummy tuck usually meet the following criteria: 1. Minimal excess abdominal fat 2. Excess abdominal skin, particularly in the lower abdomen 3. Separation of midline abdominal wall muscles 4. Normally positioned umbilicus It appears that you have a very nice shape overall with a minimal amount of abdominal fat but a significant... more

Tummy tucks, mommy makeovers, weak abdominal muscles.

The previous history that you have described with multiple deliveries, separation of the abdominal muscles and the apparent loose skin that you present with in the photo would suggest that you are an ideal patient for a tummy tuck. As confirmation of this, however, please be aware that a thorough examination by a reputable Plastic Surgeon is strongly indicated. Your surgery could be performed as either an outpatient or inpatient procedure, and oftentimes can be performed... more

Great candidate for a tummy tuck

Congratulations! After bearing 6 children, you certainly deserve to be considering a tummy tuck. Continue to not smoke or use nicotine, get to a stable body weight your comfortable with, and by all means, you will have a tremendous improvement to your physique and to your self confidence with a tummy tuck.

You're a fantastic candidate for tummy tuck

In the right hands, you will receive a dramatically improved result from a tummy tuck. You are thin, with extensive muscle separation and redundant skin; all of these can be corrected with surgery. Keys to success: 1) Continue not to use tobacco products. Tobacco usage can lead to significant problems with healing and compromise your results. 2) Make sure you're at a relatively stable weight. Dramatic shifts in weight up or down can compromise your final result. 3) Be sure you're... more

Good Tummy Tuck result

The things that determine a good result for a Tummy Tuck are the following: 1. Lack of fat deposition inside the abdomen. No matter how tight the closure is, if you have a lot of fat inside the abdomen, your abdomen will look rounded, not flat, and the muscle will stretch. 2. Little fat deposition in the waist. If you have a lot of fat deposition around the waist, you look flat from the side, but from the front you still look wide. The only solution is to liposuction aggressively around the... more

I am very excited for you!

You look like a wonderful candidate for a tummy tuck, and I'd expect a dramatic improvement. You should be evaluated by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who will check to see if you have any reasons that would make the operation unsafe (medical issues, smoking history, etc) and will counsel you appropriately. Best regards! Dr.B see video

You should have dramatic improvement with a tummy tuck.

Hi! Your tummy tuck is difficult, and you need to see a really experienced plastic surgeon. You need extensive muscle repair, as you say. But if well done, you can expect major improvement. My web site has links to the plastic surgery societies, where you can get names of surgeons near you. I would encourage you.

Good Candidate for Tummy Tuck

You certainly appear to be a good candidate for a tummy tuck with muscle plication. The ideal candidate is someone who has primarily excess skin and who is of normal or nearly normal body weight. You appear to be in this group judging from your photograph. I would caution you, however, to make certain that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon. Congratulations for your family!

Yes, you can get a good result from a tummy tuck

Abdominoplasty or tummy tuck can address your concerns. It is exciting to think about the positive aspects of an abdominoplasty in general as it tightens the muscles, that have been loosened form those large babies, it can remove the stretched and damage skin and can enhance your waist. The trick is getting in the best shape you can and reducing the intraabdominal fat content. When looking for a surgeon be sure they have trained in plastic surgery and are accredited with the ABPS and... more

Tummy Tuck Candidate

You are a great candidate for the surgery, as long as you stay off the cigarettes. After 6 kids then quitting smoking, you deserve congratulations! You've been off for plenty of time, just make sure and stay away from second hand smoke. Hopefully you're off all nicotine products like gum/patches at this point. Discuss the surgery with the two plastic surgeons in your area. You should be in good hand after talking to two ABPS Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. The surgery you're... more

Absolutely!

From your history and your photo, you are a superb tummy tuck candidate. As long as you are in excellent physical and psychological health, have some good support during the initial recovery, and have chosen an excellent plastic surgeon, this should be a great restoration of your body. Congratulations on your 6 children!!

You can have great Tummy Tuck results

Yes, I feel you could have a great result from a "tummy tuck" = abdominoplasty. If you are in good health, do not smoke, etc, you should expect a flattening of the upper and lower abdomen and removal of the extra skin. Usually, it is the fascia overlying the muscle that is tightened vs actually cutting or repairing of the muscle which helps make the abdomen flatter. Make sure that you follow the post operative instructions and give your self time to heal.

Tummy tuck after multiple children

6 babies!  Congratulations...you deserve to take care of yourself.  You are an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck based upon your photo.  Nonetheless, this surgery should be performed by a certified surgeon with experience in this procedure.  Good luck, /nsn.

I think you would do great with Tummy Tuck

Looking at your picture, you appear to be an excellent candidate for an abdominoplasty. Especially since you have quit smoking. Not only will you be able to get rid of a lot of your stretch marks, your skin will be tighter and your tummy muscles flatter. It is a reasonably large surgery so be prepared to hurt for a while afterward and have someone available to help with all those babies. Good luck with the surgery and the babies!

You are an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck

You look to be an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck.  You have excess skin on your abdomen, but otherwise appear to be in good shape.  As long as you are a good surgical candidate from a medical perspective, you should have a great result from an abdominoplasty.

You appear to be an excellent candidate

You are at a good weight and have all the physical characteristics of patients who end up with excellent results after abdominoplasty.  As long as you don't have diabetes or other major health problems (smoking, hear disease), you should have an excellent result.

You appear to be an excellent candidate for a tummy tuck

Given your history, presumed youth, apparent weight, skeletal structure, and muscle status, I would predict that you would have an excellent outcome from a tummy tuck procedure. Hopefully, you are not a smoker; that would place you at higher risk for complications. Seek an evaluation by a credited and certified surgeon. I wish you the best of luck.

Probably good results from Tummy Tuck

Hello,  From the looks of your image it seems you have enough to fix to make a tummy tuck a good idea. The skill of your surgeon and your capacity to heal will also come into play. If you are a big smoker, this could throw a "monkey wrench" into the equation.
