Creams for deep acne scars

I think you can get some modest (very) benefit with deep scars using topical: vitamin A, vitamin C, or azelaic acid. You're better off with chemical peels, TCA cross method, laser resurfacing, or subcision. Chat with your dermatologist about your best options and those that fit your budget and downtime.

Topical Treatments will probably only help new scars

Topical treatments will have minimal impact on old scars but may be able to affect new scars or recently aqcuired scars, especially if they are still red or pink.  In that case I would recommend that you use topical therapies that encourage collagen growth such as growth factor containing products (Neocutis' Bio-Restorative Gel with PSP or SkinMedica's TNS Recovery Complex) and/or retinoid or retinol products.  The most effective treatments for acne scars in... more

Ice pick scars of Acne

Unfortunately, neither Retin A nor any other topical cream will make any significant difference in ice pick scarring associated with Acne. The best approach may be to discuss with dermatologist or plastic surgeon regarding laser, or dermabrasion. All of these approaches carry risks and should be approached cautiously under the proper supervised expertise.
