Gastric Bypass after thyroid removal
There is no major contraindication to having a gastric bypass after thyroid removal. The important issue here is to make sure that your thyroid hormone levels are optimal prior to surgery as this important hormone contributes to several physiological aspects such as metabolism and cardiac funciton to some respects.
This as well as your nutritional parameters will have to be well monitored after your gastric bypass surgery as well. Make sure you take your thyroid medication as prescribed by your doctor.
