Is is Possible for Galvanic Facials to Cause Nerve Damage?

I personally got "shocked" in the left temple area 3 years ago after using the Galvanic Spa on that side of my face for the first time. Never had a negative reaction on the right side. After getting "shocked" a couple of times at the left temple, I discontinued using the device altogether.

While washing the gel off my face, the entire left side "felt" numb, and I got zapping sensations that traveled around the left surface of my scalp, plus shooting pains in my left ear and eye.
