Okay, so for a while I've noticed that when lighting is hitting my face from directly above, my midface where my cheek ends and my upper lip begins starts to look weird and it looks like my upper lip is protruding. I don't know whats causing it and its really frustrating. However, before considering any major surgical change, I would like to know if gaining some weight (since I'm a little skinny) would help? Or maybe better vitamins?
Answer: Gaining Weight to alter facial appearance - doesn't make sense for most
Gaining weight is not a predictable way to alter your facial fat as it varies from person to person. If volume is needed you can check out the difference by using fillers which if you do not like the result will go away with time. If you do like the result then fat transfer would be a viable option. Most importantly, see a plastic surgeon who can examine and advise you.

Answer: Nonsurgical Cheek Augmentation Is An Excellent Approach For Restoring Mid & Lower Facial Volume
Personally, I am not in favor of the idea of gaining weight for the express purpose of adding volume to sunken or depressed areas of the face. Excess weight poses known health risks. Instead, if volume loss or depletion is problem, restoring volume seems a far more logical and safer approach.
Nonsurgical cheek augmentation with volumizing fillers, either alone or in combination with a Nonsurgical 3D Vectoring Crow's Feet Lift, is a rapid and excellent way to improve the upper mid face region without the need for invasive surgery and significant downtime. In most cases, the procedure may be completed in no more than twenty minutes with immediate return to work or social activities. Nonsurgical augmentation with volumizing fillers has the additional benefit of being able to modified in accordance with age-related changes in the area.
A good way to determine whether someone might benefit from nonsurgically revolumizing the cheeks and the mid-face region is to ask them to smile. If the smile lifts the fallen tissue back into place and rounds the contours of the cheeks making them appear more youthful, it is a good indication that nonsurgically volumizing the above regions with injectable volumizing agents, would yield immediate, durable, and gratifying results.
For nonsurgically augmenting cheeks, I prefer to use Radiesse or Radiesse combined with Perlane L. I rely on these agents for these purposes in my Upper East Side New York City practice. In Israel, where I have a satellite office and where a far greater number of more robust volumizing fillers are available, I prefer to use Juvederm Voluma or Stylage XXL, either alone or in combination with Radiesse or Restylane SubQ..

Answer: Will weight gain help with cheeks?
In general, when someone gains weight, it does tend to fill out the face more. The effect may be dependent on the individual person as well as the amount of weight gain. You could always try that option out first and see. The other option would be using an injectable filler to help with the area of your cheeks with which you have concern. While vitamins are helpful for general health, I do not think they would have any effect on your cheeks.

Answer: Facal Volume Addition Requires Fat Injections
Fat may be a solution for your facial volume needs, but it is not going to come from weight gain. That fat can only come from fat injections. But you should try a non-permanent injectable filler first to see if the addition of volume can really make the facial improvement that you seek.
