Vitiligo is loss of pigment. There are treatments that encourage repigmentation of the areas of vitiligo. Red light in combination with a chemical pigment stimulator works well. This uses the same principle as exposing oneself to the sun to get a tan only in this case we target the less active melanocytes (pigment forming cells) in the areas of vitiligo. Fraxel Re:fine and Fraxel Re:store are unlikely to affect vitiligo. Fraxel Re:pair and other CO2 lasers most likely to make your vitiligo worse if you're Caucasian. In other skin types and only if less risky treatments failed, I'd consider use of an ablative resurfacing laser. To be practical this would have to be larger patches of vitiligo rather than small dots.
