Are the results progressive with Fraxel Re:Pair. I know that they say that with the Fraxel Re:Store that results continue to get better as the months pass after the procedures. I am wondering if the Re:Pair results get better as well with time. Thanks

Hey Allie, How are you doing? I was just thinking about your situation and wondering if you felt your lower eye situation was improving. That is my personal fear - that it will make my lower lids more pronounced. Hope you're doing better.

Well I had my Re:pair done May 22. My session was at 70 mj, 60% and 4 passes. I got the numbing cream and 2 shots and remember nothing after that, including going home. I am more swollen than yesterday, but I have had no pain. Most of the oozing had stopped, so now there is the wait for the swelling to subside. Right now I look like one of those guys who is painfully overweight.

I am on day 3 and I can already see the swelling subsiding. On day 2 my eyes just looked like slits As I said my procedure was very agressive 70mj and 60%, but I am a quick healer.

How much does this treatment cost? I'm considering it for acne scarring. I had 3 of the original fraxels 4-5 years ago and it definitely helped but perhaps with one of the heavy-duty re:pair treatments I could knock it out of the park.

Hi Peter, The cost of the treatment varies depending on how much area is being treated, and I have also seen variations in price depending on the location in the country. With acne scarring, more than one treatment is usually recommeded. Be well. Dr. P

What happened to Allie Grace? Anybody know? I'm hoping she's doing better. I'm going under the laser this coming Tuesday with Dr. Geronomous. He's supposed to be one of the most experienced doctors with this laser. I met with him last week and he provided a nurse from his office who called and told me about her experience.. which was positive... although she needed two treatments with the re:pair... which I was surprised about.. but she was a bit older than I. 55 verses my 44. I'm concerned with a premature wrinkling and sagging skin under my eyes and I'm hoping the results are similar to a lower blepharoplasty. (As per Dr. Weiner's comments... keeping my fingers crossed...I'm not ready for the surgery yet... mentally) Dr. G also said that I should be prepared for 3 weeks of redness under the eyes. I'm taking one week off - but I guess I'll have to bear the brunt of the embarrassment for two weeks. I also plan to figure out how to post pictures.

Peter, I had mine done on the 22nd and it cost 5k, but there were no other doctors in my area offering the procedure. I have had dermabrasion and CO2 before so I know better than to jump to conclusions. I am at day 5 and most of the swelling has diminished, although some of the redness remains. If my complexion remained at this level I would be totally satisfied, but deterioration is to be expected and hopefully collegen will help fill this in. I am well aware that I may be looking at a 2nd re:pair treatment.

Neil, Allie is doing well the last I heard, and is away for a while. I am sure she will post when she can.

Welcome back, cmc. Glad to hear you had a great time. How did the hats work out?! I am anxiously awaiting my treatment. I haven't chosen a ps yet, but I don't plan to do anything until after my eyes are done. Keep in touch!

Update on my situation. It has been 3 weeks since my repair fraxel, and I am still disfigured. No one seems to know what happened or what is wrong with my face. I have seen 3 specialists, and my picture has been sent to many doctors around the country. Only one doctor thinks it is scarring, although nobody knows for sure as it is a unique skin issue and heretofore unseen. I see my doctor everyday, and in no way blame him for this situation. I am scheduled for a biopsy. My emotional state is much better, and I think I see improvement, however slight. As a tri-athlete, it is depressing because this is the big race season, and I am only allowed moderate activity. The doctors suggest it will take 3 months to heal, or know if it is scarring.
