Are the results progressive with Fraxel Re:Pair. I know that they say that with the Fraxel Re:Store that results continue to get better as the months pass after the procedures. I am wondering if the Re:Pair results get better as well with time. Thanks

Thanks for that reply. I've been reading a lot today about needling. Have you heard of this technique? It makes sense logically - they use a roller with a bunch of steel needles and roll it on your face - to cause an injury - and your body produces more collagen to repair the small injury. And - that causes the skin to become thicker and smoother. It seems to do the same thing as the laser -but in a more crude manner. I might try that first - before I go with the laser. I'm also trying to find more re:pair patients results with photos. If you can point me in that direction - please let me know. Neil

Neil, Dr. Weiner has some good photos, I just wish he were closer. Check them out here.

I would be very cautious about the "needling". The needles are so much larger than the size of a laser penetration. I would be concerned about scarring. You can look at my profile for photos from the Fraxel re:pair. Steve Weiner, MD

Hi Neil, You are correct, 'needling" is the "poor man's laser" treatment. After the needling, vitamins are used on the skin to enhance the result. It is okay, but certainly no where near the effect of fractionated CO2 laser, nor can the skin be treated as precisely, and certainly the eyelids can't be treated. The treatment itself is quite a bloody mess as well. Good luck. Dr. P

Follow up to my issues. Saw the doctor today (day 10) and was very excited because I felt I was doing better, and wouldn't scar. But, he is more concerned then before. The area is still raised, and he started talk of "how we can get rid of the scars once I'm healed." I am on an intensive two day healing program, wish me luck and I will keep you informed. If you want to see the pictures, email me. You may want to think twice, if I do scare it is over 50% of my face.

I there, I am thinking of getting the fraxel repair done, but am wondering if I will be okay to go back to work as soon as they say you can. I'm going to have it done on a Tuesday and have to return to work the following Monday. Help me decide what to do. jbc

Hi jbc, Depending on the aggressiveness of your treatment, and your job (no Life Guard work), you should be able to return to work Monday, if a bit "red in the face". The redness should fade over another week. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Dr. P

Hey Allie, Would you mind directing me to your photos - the results of your current treatment? Or can you send them to my e-mail? {edited - personal email addresses are not published on RealSelf.com} Thanks.

Hello to Dr. Weiner. I'm scheduled to undergo Fraxel Re:pair with Dr. Geronomous here in NYC in a couple of weeks. He's supposed to give me the contact information of one or two of his patients that are willing to discuss the procedure and their results. However, I was wondering if you have any as well - that I could perhaps e-mail or maybe - if it would be easier - you could send them my e-mail - just to have a couple more people to discuss with. {edited email address} Thanks. Any insights on how this cell therapy would interact with the Fraxeled skin? (I have this weird (unfounded) suspicion that Fraxeling your skin - does some unnatural damage to it - that in the future - will make it less receptive to new advances in skin therapies.) By the way - how do I get my picture to show up in my posts? Editor note: Please refrain from publicly posting your contact information. DR Geronomous is the most experienced doc for this laser. He did a lot of the studies to get FDA approval. No studies have been done on patient's after the Fraxel with either TNS or Neocutis, but have been done on patients after the ablative CO2 lasers and has shown benefit. My pix was put up by adding it to my account. At this time, I don't have patients willing to give out or get emails, Steve Weiner, MD
