Fraxel Re:pair Vs Total FX for Neck Skin Tightening

There aren't many doctors offering Fraxel Re:pair in my area, and it's easier to find doctors that provide Total FX. Will skin tightening results through Total FX be as good as Fraxel Re:pair's results?

Fraxel Repair for skin tightening on the neck

Hi jonjanna -- We have the Fraxel repair and the Lumenis Ultrapulse Encore (which is used for Active FX and TotalFx). Both can be used successfully, but we prefer the Fraxel repair. Our centre was involved in the clinical trials for Fraxel and have found it to be an excellent device for resurfacing both the face, neck, and chest. The neck cannot be treated as aggressively when compared to the face. Don't expect surgical quality tightening, but you can see nice improvement in texture... more

These two machines are very similar, but the neck is a tough area to improve

While both lasers can be used on this area, the tightening isn't as impressive on the neck and complications can occur when treating that area. One of the biggest problems which can occur is when the colors of the skin around the neck and chest don't match after the procedure, making it nearly impossible to go without makeup at any time. Fractional co2 laser resurfacing for neck tightening

All fractional co2 laser such as Total Fx, Fraxel Repair, Mixto performed very comparably. Even though improvement is seen most of the time, the protocol needs to be more conservative to minimize risk of post-inflammatory pigmentation, redness, or even scarring.
