Unfortunately, neither the Fraxel re:pair nor the Fraxel re:store will improve hypo- or depigmentation (too little or no pigment in the skin). These conditions can be caused by an number of conditions and should be evaluated and treated by a dermatologist. The Excimer laser may lead to improvement for some patients with vitiligo, a condition when the pigment-producing cells in the skin are lost. The Fraxel lasers primarily treat excessive discoloration, including freckles, sun spots, and melasma.
