I agree with Dr. Persky. While it is usual practice in some offices to allow non-physicians to perform laser treatments, it is not my practice. Especially with a laser such as the Fraxel re:pair, where serious injury can result from improper usage, I think that its use should be limited to physicians.

Who Should Perform Fraxel re:store Around the Eyes?
Hi Gracie Jane,
Some physicians prefer to perform all of their own laser work, while other offices employ technicians, estheticians, nurses, or other "physician extenders".
Since I am ultimately responsible for my patient’s well being, I prefer to perform all laser procedures myself. Around the eyes one needs to exert extra caution. A well trained and experienced tech may be fine treating with Fraxel re:store, but not in my practice.
