Do they both do the same job? Do they have similar recovery and cost?

Fraxel Laser Vs. CO2 Laser; Cost and Recovery Comparisons

Hi Tri Mom,

There are two types of Fraxel laser (fractionated lasers that treat a fraction of the skin surface), restore is not CO2, repair is CO2, then there are the older traditional CO2 lasers that treat 100% of the skin surface.

They do not do the same job, the recovery and costs are different as well.

Fraxel re:pair is currently the "hottest" ( no pun intended) laser in facial plastic surgery and dermatology for skin rejuvenation. The recovery is about 7 to 10 days, the effects last for a lifetime (as the laser actually removes a mass of skin tissue), the cost varies from physician to physician, as well as geographically. A barometer to go by for cost is that it is usually about 1/3 the cost of surgical face/neck lift.

Good luck and be well.
