Fractional Laser on Skin with Vitiligo?

Eximer Laser is a far better choice
There is a substantial amount of literature showing that the 308nm Eximer laser is quite effective for vitiligo. Dr. Jim Spencer of NYU has published two papers in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology demonstrating some excellent results. There are others.
I do not know of any articles in the literature showing that the Fraxel laser works for vitiligo. Theoretically, since the Eximer is in the wavelength which is best suited to treat vitiligo, the Eximer laser should be substantially more effective in treating vitiligo than the Fraxel. I would recommend the Eximer laser but not the Fraxel.
Fractional Laser and Vitiligo
After reviewing Fractional laser vs Eximer laser, as Dr Oppenheim recommends, I agree with the doctors advise. Go with the Eximer laser. Regards.
Patients with vitiligo often get depigmentation after injury (a burn, a scape, etc). I therefore advise that you NOT do laser to your skin. The risk far outweighs any benefit.
