Scarless platysmaplasty is not the same as a Regular platysmaplasty, and now called Closed Platysmotomy
I first performed the scarless platysmaplasty in 2008. I have performed it a handful of times since then, for patients who are mainly concerned with over active platysmal muscle bands, but when their neck is as rest, no muscle bands "bowstring" through the skin.
It sounds like a "gimmicky" procedure, but I think it is actually an incorrect description of the procedure. The word platysmaplasty is associated with a simple procedure...
