Need Help Finding my Desired Size.

Right now I am a 34A my desired size to become is a full C. When I went to my consultation and told the doctor my desired size he told me there is no way in really telling what size you will be till after surgery. I was very confused. My surgery is Dec 20th and I am scared that I am going to be bigger then what I want. I weigh about 110 and am going with 425cc smooth round implant, submuscular, with the inframammary incision. Will someone please help me and tell me if I will be to big.

Desired Breast Implant Size Determination

It is important to use precise measuring methods to determine the dimensions of your chest, breast, and the aount of your skin stretchability. These are all very important. For example, an A cup breast that has a pinch thickness of 1.5 cm and stretches out only 2 cm will not accomodate beyond a certain size limit. If the limit is exceeded by a large amount, then you can expect to have potentially higher capsular contracture rates (hardenning), more thinning of your skin and implant... more

Help finding best implant size to achieve desired bra cup size

It is very easy to be confused by this measuring system. Cup sizes are only used as estimates for clothing. Although the measuring technique for determining cup size is precise, the results of these measurements are not. Let me give you an example; weight is a very accurate measurement. However two patients that weigh 120 lbs are not likely to look alike. The same is true with two patients that have C cup breasts. This is why physicians tend to use volume (cubic centimeters or cc) as a... more

Breast implant sizing

Choosing the most appropriate size for breast implants should be a decision made by the patient with the doctors expert input about what that choice would mean for the patient.  Without photos it is harder to evaluate where you are starting from, but at 110 lbs you must be relatively slim.  The most important measurement to start with is the width of your breast.  Choosing an implant with a width close to you natural width will give you the most natural result. ... more

Implant size choice

One of the most frequent complaints following breast implant surgery is that patients regret the size they chose.  So this is an excellent question.  One option to help decide the size is to try on implants.  This is a ROUGH MEASURE.  Once your implant is submuscular, its size is significantly smaller than when you try it on in the office.  Review photos online.  You may browse enough plastic surgery sites to find a woman with breast similar to yours. ... more

Choosing implants for the breasts

Choosing the appropriate implants for you is based upon a thorough exam and discussion during consultation.  I never walk into the OR without the approximate final volume I am going to go without mutually agreeing upon it with the patient.

Do Not Fixate on Cup Size

It is best not to fixate on a particular cup size since there is no standardization of cup sizes.  The best thing for you to do, as simple as it sounds, is to try on implants to see which size gives you the look you desire.  I have done this for several years and very rarely have patients who are unhappy with their choice.

Rule of thumb is about 1 cupsize per 200 cc

Dear lady, there is a good chance that with 425 cc you will get the full C-cup. You can try out volumes yourself by stuffing an old nylon stocking with this volume in rice, then tie or knot it closed. Put this in your bra, and mould it to an acceptable shape. This is not 100ù precise, but will give you a good idea. Still your surgeon should be able to give a reasonable reliable estimate of the size after surgery.

How to pick breast implant sizes

How to pick breast implant sizes 1) This is the most common type of question on RealSelf. 2) It is the surgeon's job to pick the right breast implants, not the patient's. Implant selection is really pretty technical. 3) Make sure your surgeon REALLY understands the look you want. Mentioning a cup size is not enough. Show your surgeon pictures of breasts you like. 4) Then your surgeon has to tell you if your chosen look is realistic for your anatomy. The most... more

Am I getting a Breast Implant that is TOO BIG for Me?

Choosing THE RIGHT breast implant for you could be extremely frustrating. Breast Implant suggestions are very much like rear ends - everyonde has one and some appear to have several... The implant that would look and feel best in you may be completely wrong the the next woman who walks into my office and to try and place the biggest possible breast implant in every woman is wrong anda disservice to those women. In my humble opinion an A CUP would rarely look attractive with a 425 ccbreast imp more

Breast size

'Too' big is relative. In general, pick the least projecting implants that fits the width of your breast to find the most natural fit. You can vary the width and the projection to increase the size. But as you increase these dimensions, your breast will begin to take on characteristics of the implant. Explain the properties of your breast that you would consider to be ideal and those that you consider to be "too" big. Be sure your surgeon knows what you are thinking. I... more

Picking a breast implant size

It can be very stressful trying to decide which breast implant size to pick.  As your surgeon said, no one can tell you exactly what bra size you will be wearing post op.  The same implant in two different patients can yield different results.  It does sound like you are on the right path.  You can either go back in to see your surgeon and try the implants "on" with a sports bra, or get a second opinion.  A second opinion is generally a good idea,... more
