Is Fat Grafting on Lower Eyelids a Bad Idea?

Fat Grafting lower Lids - I recently had a nose job / brow lift / eyes upper and lower. I'm swollen - but its only day 10. All the posts I read about fat in the lower lids looks like bad news and it shouldn't be done.

I'm now starting to freak out. My surgeon is a very well know surgeon in los angeles - seen on discovery channel.

Fat grafting or Restylane injection can both produce very nice results

Either fat grafting or Restylane can help rejuvenate the lower eyelids, in particular by softening the tear trough.  Both work well, but need to be done properly.  You're early in your healing so give it some time as you will not see your final results for several weeks.

Give it time prior to judging results of lower eyelid fat grafting procedure

You are of course hearing about bad results because it is very rare for people to write about good results. Fat grafting as an adjunctive procedure is an excellent option. Any procedure can have complications. At this point in time there is nothing you can or should do. Worrying is really a waste of your energy. Try to trust the judgement of the surgeon you chose to perform the procedure and wait for the results before drawing any conclusions.

Micro fat grafting is a very common procedure and will give excellent results not only to the lower eyelid region but also the cheeks/malar region, brows/temples, anterior and posterior jawline, chin and nose. Your surgical swelling will start to improve more rapidly over the next few weeks and with the combination of the... more

Fat into the lower lids is an excellent option

In my opinion, fat injections in the lower lid can do wonders. they have to be done right though. If not done right you can get lumpiness and noticeable irregularities. These issues can be addressed though and are not a significantly bad thing to have and take care of. Fat grafting in the lower eyelid and cheek area is the best way to rejuvenate this area out of all options in my opinion. The aged appearance in this area is mainly due to a loss of volume and replacing that volume can... more
