I think I have fat deposits on my forehead. pictures included.  Hi, I am 23yrs old. female. 5'5 130lbs. Over the last few years I have noticed puffy areas on my forehead. There are two areas over my eyebrows that look to be puffy, swollen. The areas are not sensitive to touch. The areas do seem to be more pronounced outside, possibly due to the lighting. Have not been to the doctors for this issue because I believe it is a cosmetic issue. Can a plastic surgeon 'lipo' my forehead for a flatter appearance. will a ct scan be needed before doing so? thank you!

Swellings in forehead

It seems that there are two diagonal lines delineating the lower areas of the swellings on both sides of the forehead. This would not be the shape of lipomas (benign fatty tumors). It also seems to be rather geometric for swelling. Possibly the corrugator muscles are more demonstrable on you but they usually don't extend up that far. You may need a scan to see if there is fluid.

Bumps on forehead

It is difficult to tell from the photos what is bothering you.  If it is a small fatty deposit most likely a small incision would be required to remove it.  If it is bone, it may require a bit more.

When I see a soft, round bulge on the forehead, I will typically get a CT scan to confirm the diagnosis (fat is recognizable on CT), and to check the depth of the lesion. In my experience, forehead lipomas tend to be "subperiosteal" or deep to the lining over your forehead bone. The horizontal forehead scar... more
