Fat Atrophy After IPL?

If fat atrophy has already occured, is there any way to reverse or correct the damage? After receiving 3 IPL treatments, my skin texture has become very leathery and my pores are permanently dilated. I've always had larger pores around my nose, but never on my lower cheeks. The leathery texture stops where the treatments ended.

IPL should not cause fat atrophy

IPL treatments : applying many different light waves on the skin all at once, with a flash!  Used to treat superficial skin imperfections. IPL energy only goes a short distance into the skin and deals with problems there. Pigmentation  and superficial blood vessels are reduced or eliminated. Pigment and blood vessels deep in the skin are not treated. IPL treats pigment and this is why it is not used if you are dark skinned naturally or because of a tan......it could caus more

Difficult to tell from the picture

It appears as if you have acne scarring.  This can be treated very successfully by injections of Juvederm or Restylane.  Additionally you might want to think about laser resurfacing.

Same thing happened to me, months after I also have flaking, the occasional lump and blotchiness. I had mine done for redness, this was the 2nd treatment, the first worked great with no problems but this one my skin is worse. Its the first time it's done this and I've had a lot of laser on other areas for various things. I've never had a problem with the operator or her machine before.

I seem to have the same problem. I went to two doctors and they said the skin would return to normal and there was no permanent damage to the skin. It has been almost 3 months from the 1 photofacial I had done. The doctor's said it would take another 1 to 2 months for skin to return to normal. Have you seen an improvement in the texture and pore size, since you posted this?

An update since Aug. 6th 2012. My skin texture did not improved, I have horrible skin texture from a photofacial RF. It has been the worst experience of my life. I would not recommend any laser treatments. You could end up with so much damage, and doctor will not care, at the very most all they'll do is refund your money, just to get rid of you, and you have deal with all the damage left on your face.
