Face and neck lift: Choose the right surgeon

Look for a board-certified facial plastic surgeon who has extensive experience with moderate and an advanced face lifting techniques to give a natural look. Look at their board certifications, ratings and reviews, testimonials, and most importantly before and after photographs of male facelifts. Choosing a surgeon

Perhaps the best way to find a surgeon is to talk with other patients of a surgeon. Ask a friend who has had a similar procedure. Patient referrals are how most of my patients come to me. Honest feedback and referrals are the best way to select a surgeon (better than internet ads, etc.). This can be a difficult issue to bring up to friends, but the advice you get will be very helpful.

Thank you for the picture.

In my opinion, the best way to get to a good PS is mostly from former patients who have had similar or same procedure. If this is not your case, then my suggestion is to visit the plastic surgery directory page in which there you'll find a list of certifies plastic surgeons according to each state and country as well.

Good luck,

While men today are more and more interested in surgical aesthetic enhancements, most male patients are adamant about 'looking natural' and NOT looking 'done'. The aging male face must be approached carefully and conservatively, as overly aggressive surgery can, in some cases, feminize the facial appearance.

Choosing a Plastic Surgeon for a Facelift can be a difficult and confusing process. To start with look for someone who has the background, training and experience to perform your surgery. Are they a member of the ASAPS? Do they have Hospital privileges to perform the surgery you desire?

Realself is an excellent starting point. Then check the websites of many plastic surgeons to look at their results. Some patients desire a very natural look , while others are interested in a more extreme look .An experienced plastic surgeon should have many, many before and after images. Each patient should have a photo from the front, the side and from the oblique perspective. In photos the lighting, cropping and distance from the patient should be the same. Consistency in photography can provide insight into a surgeon's attention to detail.
Consider the training, experience and expertise of a plastic surgeon as this varies significantly. Also keep in mind that an excellent plastic surgeon should also have en excellent team including performing surgery in an accredited surgical suite or hospital.
The decision about whether or not to have plastic surgery is an important one. This process deserves time and attention

It can be hard to find the right surgeon for any procedure. For a facelift in particular, there are a lot of different options which an experienced surgeon will be able to discuss with you. Different techniques will have different amounts of benefit and longevity.

Make sure to select a surgeon who specializes in facelifts and can discuss the pros and cons with you in detail. In the end, it is critical to have a natural and balanced result--especially for a male patient.

Male facelift

Almost anyone doing facelifts today is board certified. There are more important issues.  Look for someone who does male facelifts and can explain the differences in doing that operation on men versus women. Issues of facial and scalp hair, ear and earlobe problems,  location of scars and natural looking results should be thoroughly discussed. Based on the picture you submitted, I would think carefully about having a facelift.

How do I choose the right surgeon?

The most important thing to consider when looking for a facelift surgeon is to find a surgeon who has a lot of experience doing facelifts. Ask to look at before and after pictures and, if possible, speak to a patient who has had the surgery in the past. Do multiple consultations and choose the surgeon who is most qualified and who you have the best rapport with. Good luck!

Finding a good facelift surgeon

The way to find a good facelift surgeon is to find a surgeon who does a lot of facelifts.  There are a lot of plastic surgeons who have a practice that does not involve facial surgery.  For example, some plastic surgeons have a practice that consists of nearly 100% breast surgery.  A surgeon who operates on the face frequently will know the ins and outs of facial surgery and be able to deliver a safe and consistent result.

A great way to find a good facial plastic surgeon is to look at their websites and review the photos; schedule a consultation; and speak with the surgeon.  You want to be sure the surgeon understands your goals and you are both on the same page.  See the link below regarding how to choose a plastic surgeon.
