had eye cosmetic eye surg a week ago. right eye's lid is sewn strange/left infected? 1.upper and lower eyelids look very different - puffy and lax on left and stitch line holds eyelid higher on the right. is that normal? 2. also, left eye is very red and oozy. what constitutes an infection? thank you very much.

Unsatisfactory Eyelid Surgery

Sorry to hear of your condition. The photograph is helpful but not clear enough to give the lower lid details we require. As regards your upper lids they are very asymmetric. You appear to have a very asymmetric upper lid fold with a droopy Right upper lid - PTOSIS (with a high or missing lid fold) consistent with a failure to repair or division of the LEVATOR APONEUROSIS, the ligament by which the muscle with lifts the upper lid attaches to the tarsal plate, the short cartilage... more

Eye to Eye

The incisions do appear to have different heights and the right appears a bit red.  The incisions are typically at the same level.  The redness of the eye could be simply due to irritation from the operation, swelling or a stitch.  If the swelling and drainage persists, or the drainage becomes yellow or the eye has increasing pain then this should not be ignored.  It should be treated as an infection.  This situation mandates close follow up by your surgeon... more

Too early for evaluation

You had your surgery a week ago and still have bruising from the surgeon. You have trusted your surgeon to operate on you and you should trust him during the recovery too. Please discuss your concerns with your surgeon and let him to take care of you while you are recovering. There is no sign of infection based on the limited view that you have submitted.
