Hello, I am wondering if someone could provide me with the proper word for the technique my doctor used to "shorten my nose". He said that he removed alittle cartlidge to cause my nostrils to retract up, he said that the tip itself is in the exact same location and that it is just an illusion that I have a shorter nose. A shortened looking nose

Withotu seeing photos it would be difficult to say.  If the nostrils arched a bit, sometimes grafting to the area to give better support may improve this problem.

Treatment of shortened nostril in revision rhinoplasty, nose surgery

Picture would be of great help for accurate diagnosis and planning. The foreshortened nose can be lengthened by repositioning of the nasal tip to a lower position. Please discuss your concern so your doctor can explain the procedure in more detail. Make sure it is done by a board certified plastic surgeon with experience in revision rhinoplasty. Best wishes

Shortened nostrils and revision.

I would have to see photos, but it sounds as though your nose be too short for you and you need to add length again with cartilage from your nose or ear. Make sure you see an experienced revision rhinoplasty expert since this is an advanced technique.
