What to Expect from Removal of Lipoma Near my Left Temple?

I have a lipoma near my left temple. It's about 1.5 inches. I have it for over 20 years and it has not grown any bigger. I would like to have it removed by a surgeon but I'm concerned that it's located in kind of a sensitive area, unlike arms or legs. Will I get extra examinations such as CAT scan/MRI etc before the surgery? Is it likely to be a complicated surgery? General anesthesia? Can I go home on the same day?

All you questions can only be answered by the surgeon who examines you and decides to operate on you. Imaging studies are likely not needed unless there are other suspicious features. most such lesions are removable with local anesthesia and you definitely should be able to go home the same day.
