Can an Existing Female Inplant Where the Male Screw (Tooth) comes Loose, Be Repaired
Have had inplant for a number of years, but now the tooth comes loose and my dentist has to continually tighten the nut. Is there a procedure that can repair the receptor which appears to have a small crack in the base.

Implant Screw
Since there are several different ways of restoring teeth with implants, it's tough to tell from your question whether the crown is held in place with a screw, the implant abutment is, or both. I would try replacing the screw first. If there is a crack in the abutment, that can be replaced as well. If there actually is a crack in the implant body itself, that's a bigger problem and the implant would probably need to be surgically removed and replaced.

Cracked Implant
Although not commonly seen, implant collars do fracture. If it is the implant that is fractured, it can be removed and the area will need a bone graft and then a new implant placed. You always have the option to keep having the abutment screw tighten till it can not be torqued down anymore.

Broken Dental Implant
If the actual implant itself has a crack or fracture in the platform like you are expalining (which is very rare) thenthe only to remedy the situation is remove the implant and replace it. If the issue is just the abutment screw, then a new abutment screw may be the answer. It sounds as if the issue is the actual dentala implant itself unfortunately so the the implant will need to be surgically removed and replaced. Please make sure you have this procedure performed by an...

Implant Failure
The limiting factor is that the implant is damaged. There is no way to repair it and ultimately this implant will need to be removed and replaced. So, the answer is what to do until you get tired of going to the dentist to replace the crown or wait until the crack gets bigger and won't allow for a screw to hold the crown in place. Make sure you go to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for the removal so it can bewitch as little bone removal as possible so that a new implant can be placed....

Crown tightening over dental implants
As long there is no serious damage to the receptor which is the implant body, the best choice is to repace the screw and use a old one and check the occlusion on that implant supported crown.

Maybe able to get a new screw
Not too clear on your description. If the implant itself is cracked (the part that is permanently implanted in you bone) then there is nothing you can do. You would have to have the implant removed and a new one placed.
If the screw that fits into the implant or the abutment is the one that has the problem, then you can order a new screw or abutment. Depending on the type of restoration you may need to re-do the crown as well.

Loose Screw
Metal screws deform. This makes the grip tend to loosen after they have been tightened and retightened more than a couple times. Once it's been tightened the surface becomes smooth and it doesn't have as much of a friction hold with the threads inside the implants Your problem may be best solved by getting a new screw. If the base is truly cracked, then it should be replaced.

Loose implant tooth
Yore dentist may need to redo the whole tooth part to fix this. Sometimes the screw loosens and you just need a new screw, and sometimes you have to start over. Ask him if he thinks ordering a new screw from the manufacturer is a possibility. It's hard to tell without actually seeing it.

Loose implant screw
Very important information is necessary:
When was this implant placed?
Who is the manufacturer?
Is it an internal or external Hex Implant?
Loosening of screws is more common in the external hex implant/restoration interface. Often, screws must be replaced and switched to gold if possible. If there truly is a "crack" at the interface, then the new restoration should be fabricated.
