For My Breast Shape, What Would be the Best Incision and Implant Type, Size for Me? (photo)

Hi Grace, Thank you for your question and photos. Yours is not a straight forward case. You have several issues that have to be addressed: 1. your breasts are pretty far apart and pointing laterally. 2. You appear to have some glandular ptosis (breast tissue below your fold). 3. Your aerola are pretty large and you may some small degree of tuberous breast shape. This is where a good physical examination is important, but I think you would need a breast lift... more

Best incision

It looks like you have a bit of ptosis and large areola. It may be worthwhile to consider a circumareola lift with the implants and so going through the nipple region may be a good choice. An exam would be most beneficial to determine the best approach.

Implant size for breast augmentation

Thank you for your question. Your plastic surgeon can tell you what is possible but you get to decide what size you want to be as long as it is feasible. In order to reduce the size of your areola, I recommend an incision around the nipple as the approach for the implants. Discuss with your plastic surgeon what type and style of implant is best for you. There are many sizes and shapes. Without measurements, I can't answer that for you. Best of luck.

Tuberous Breast with Large Areola Requires Special Breast Augmentation Procedure

You need to consult a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specific expertise in Breast Surgery. Your breasts have a Tuberous as opposed to round shape and your Areola are larger than average. Generally speaking if the typical Breast Augmentation is done through an Inframammary Incision beneath the Breast it is likely that the Tuberous Breast will sit on top of the implant and the implant will not properly fill out the breast. If you are happy with the size of your Areola then a... more

Best procedure to correct breast volume and wide areola

The biggest question is do you want larger breast volume or do you want an improvement in the overall shape and symmetry of your breasts. There are two main problems with your particular breast anatomy apart from overall lack of volume. You have a some degree of breast sagging with a very large diameter areola. The best procedure for you would be a combination of a breast lift procedure with an incision around the areola as well as in implant with a sufficiently wide base... more

Some direction

Most of the answers you have received mention that you need to be physically seen by a plastic surgeon in order to decide on a plan that will give you the best results- which I agree with. Here is a suggestion based off of the pictures posted- Possibly a circumferential incision/lift around the areola to lift and remove excess skin to give your breasts a perkier and rounder (tear drop) shape with a silicone implant placed under the muscle. There is a before and after picture... more

Breast Shape, Incision Location, Implant Type for Grace

Hi Grace! I so agree that the best way to go about it is to have a nice chat and examination by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon but here are two major issues, based on your aesthetic goal: options for breast enlargement - silicone versus saline, round versus anatomical implants, shape of implants - so called low / moderate / high, size of implants, under or above the muscle etc AND options for changing your breast contour - do you want fuller breast but without a lift or... more

What breast incision and what type of breast implant would best be used for my breast augmentation?

While phtographs are very helpful in determining aspects of a planned plastic surgical procedure, a consultation with an actual examination of the breasts would be most helpful. Having said that after reviwing your photos I think you can eihe have an infra-areolar( at the low end of the areola) incision or underneath the breas( inframammary incision. You can have either saline or silicone implants, the pros and cons of each which should be discussed with your surgeon. It appears... more

Breast augmentation

I agree that this forum is not the correct setting to figure out what type or implant of approach is best. Find a local board certified plastic surgeon.

Augmentation plan depends on goals

Hi Grace, There are several important decisions that need to be made but a lot of these decisions depend on your final goals. The implant will need to fill the base of your breast and then you will need to determine what volume of implant fits your goal of a D size bra. Do you want a silicone or saline implant? Do you want to decrease the size of areola? You will need to discuss these items with your plastic surgeon and then you can determine final size and type... more

For My Breast Shape, What Would be the Best Incision and Implant Type, Size for Me? (photo)

Thanks for posting the photos. But an over the internet consult in a difficult case as your's is is not the correct forum. You need a FEW in person consults with boarded PS's in your area. Your issues can not be addressed in only a straight forward augmentation but an accurate understandable surgical plan.

Incision and implant size

Your breasts are high but very narrow, oval and with a narrow base . a wide or mod wide base and areola reduction will help shape your breast and improve the contours

What Breast Implant

I believe that an implant alone especially at a larger volume required to reach a full D cup, will overfill the upper portion of your breast, but not raise your nipple position making your nipples appear to be pointing downward unless you do a lift with the augmentation.

Suggestions for BA

I think you should get a great result. Yes your nipples are a touch low but you have nicely shaped breasts and should do well. I would recommend smooth round gel implants placed in a "dual plane" position. It could be done through either a lower peri-areolar or infra mammary incision. your breasts are a little separated so don't expect too much cleavage without a bra. it looks like your left breast is a little smaller than your right so you might need different size implants.... more

A personal consultation is the best way to answer all your questions

Your breasts are somewhat full, probably full B cup, show some glandular ptosis (breast tissue below the lower folds, although nipples are fairly upright and above the fold), there is a wide space between your breasts and your nipple/areolae are somewhat outward facing. If you want to improve your overall breast appearance in addition to enlarging your breasts, you should consider a breast lift along with implants. There are various options which you should discuss with your surgeon. more

Tough starting point for breast augmentation

First of all, you need to realize that you do not have a "routine" starting point for a great result because of your breast shape and downward angle and also because of the very wide gap in the middle. You need to go to only the most experienced top plastic surgeon to get a reasonable result. Without an exam and measurements I can't really say but your photos make me think of a wide moderate profile implant to fill the middle gap placed through a periareolar lift to... more

Breast augmentation advice

It is always difficult to answer this question without actually examining you, and this is where a thorough examination by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon would be so helpful.. One or two quick observations may be of some benefit to you, however. Your breast shape shows an enlarged areola and mild tuberous breast shape all suggesting that some form of a breast lift may be recommended. The traditional type of lift would be called a doughnut or Binelli... more

Breast Implant Size/Incision?

Prior to proceeding with breast augmentation surgery it will be very important to communicate your size goals with your surgeon. In... more

Implant Size For You

Grace: Although the photo gives us some information, you really need a formal evaluation by a board certified plastic surgeon. A formal physical exam is needed to assess several things including your skin quality, nipple position, and chest wall dimensions. I consider two factors when selecting implants for my patients: 1.Dimensional planning 2.Gel Implant Sizing system Dimensional planning – The measurements of your chest wall are taken. Also, the... more
