Erbium over Pixel Laser for Scars on Skin Type 4?

I am skin type 4 (Pakistani). I have a few shallow scars on my cheeks (but my doctor says they are ice pick scars). He recommended I have the 'Erbium laser full beam 2940' done instead of the 'Pixel'. Do you think he's right?
He also says that I may only need one Erbium treatment and the other two treatments could be Pixel. But he said, how your scars recover after these treatment is down to your own body and not the treatment, because everyone reacts differently. Is this all correct?

Erbium and Pixel lasers for scars
I think the Pixel laser would be safer for your skin-type than the solid Erbium. The Fraxel re:store or re:pair might be better options for you (somewhat more aggressive than the Pixel, but with a better safety profile than solid CO2 and Erbium lasers). The concern with someone of your skin type is the risk of pigmentary problems. Other options you may want to consider are chemical peels and saline subcision.
