Can Erbium Laser Treatment of the Face Cause Submandibular Gland Swelling?

Had an erbium fractional laser and the next day woke up with moderate amount of jaw swelling, which has been unchanged for 2 days. I have been applying ice and elevating my head . Upon palpating I felt hard lumps on both sides of my jaw .There is no pain upon palpating the area. Could my submandibular gland be damaged from this procedure? Is this a common side effect and how long does this swelling take to decrease?
