Enough Excess Skin for a Tummy Tuck?

i was recently told by a plastic surgeon that i dont have enough excess skin for a tummy tuck. when im standing up straight, i dont have a protruding abdomen, but when i bend over, i definitely have that loose roll. and my skin elasticity is poor and wrinkly. should i have a second opinion? from my picture, is it possible to tell whether or not a TT is possible for me? i want to tighten everything back up in the belly region, and Im not convinced that there are no options for me..

Yes - looks like you can

From the picture i see it looks like you may be a candidate. Would have to see other views and examine you in person but from what I see it looks like a tummy tuck would work.  Go to a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for best results. Good Luck,

Full versus mini tummy tuck

From this picture, it appears that you are a reasonable candidate for a full tummy tuck. However there are many options ranging from mini to full with all sorts of other combinations. I would definitely recommend a second opinion. see video

Loose skin is removed with a tummy tuck

A tummy tuck removes excess, stretched out skin. If there is alot of loose skin, you may need a full tummy tuck. If there is only a small amount of skin to remove, a mini tummy tuck may be the best procedure for you. It is hard to tell just from this one photo which procedure to recommend, but your idea of a second opinion sounds right. Make sure you see someone board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Tummy Tuck with Limited Skin Excision

It appears to me from the single photo that you probably do have a sufficient amount of excess skin for a full tummy tuck.  If not, you certainly are a candidate for a mini-TT.  I think it would be beneficiial for you to seek a second opinion.

Tummy tucks

It is difficult to assess your situation with one photo.  Everyone who bends over has lose skin because that is the way our body works. But there is a difference between amount of skin and quality of skin. Tummy tucks reduce the amount of skin but does little to the quality of the skin. Having said that, removing skin can compensate to varying degrees for the loss in quality or elasticity of skin and there are variations of the tummy tuck (full, mini, modified, etc) that might help... more

Tummy Tuck

Not quite sure why a Plastic surgeon turned you down. While a single photo is no march to a physical examination, you DO appear to have significant tummy skin looseness and laxity. If you have no other risk factors (such as Diabetes, smoking etc) and have completed your family, I see no reason why you should not have a full Tummy Tuck and benefit from a flat tummy and narrower waist.  Look up Plastic surgeons listed with The American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons at... more

You can have a tummy tuck

It certainly looks from your photos that you could have a tummy tuck.  You might have a little higher scar if there isn't that much extra skin but I'd suggest that you see some other plastic surgeons about this.  Make sure they have lots of TT experience and good photos.
