Electrolysis or Laser Hair Removal for Dark Skin Following Retinoid Usage?

I am thinking of getting electrolysis or laser hair removal (which is better?) after 1 or 2 years. But I am dark skinned, so will using retinoids RIGHT NOW make my skin more sensitive (thin)over time and cause dark pigmentation after the hair removal (when I am finally ready to do it after 1 or 2 years)?
