How Effective is Cynosure Laser?

My third Fraxel Laser treatment left me in worse shape than before. The doctor now recommends another laser called Cynosure which she said worked for another patient who had a really bad case of hyperpigmentation.
After this bad experience, I'm skeptical and concerned as to the outcome of the Cynosure laser (better or worse). Any thoughts on this and experience with the Cynosure laser?
