Is It Safe Have Ear Surgery While on Accutane?

Dear Dermatologist,

Ok, I keep reading NOT to undergo any kind of surgical procedure while on Accutane. Why is my son's dermatologist and plastic surgeon both telling me that my son's Otoplasty scheduled next week is NOT A PROBLEM?

The only instructions are to stop accutane 3 days prior to surgery, and resume when able after surgery. Granted, my 19 year old has only been on Accutane for 20 days.

Is that why? Thank you so much.
