I had an ear infection from a cartilage ear piercing at the time of my rhinoplasty using silicone. Is this going to increase the chance of my silicone implant becoming infected?

Silicone Rhinoplasty and Infections

The answer is yes, at the time of the rhinoplasty surgery and for the 2 weeks after that. By now, 26 days days later, you would know if it was infected, so if it is not, then you're probably out of the woods. So, the answer to your question is "yes it increases the chances" but only in the immediate post operative period. If you are infection free now, then the fact that you had an infection at the time of your rhinoplasty has no effect on future infection risks. more
