How Much Does Dysport Cost?

Dysport typically requires 2.5 times the dosage for the same effect. For example, the glabellar frown wrinkles is 20 units for Botox but 50 units for Dysport. So if you pay 12 dollars per unit for Botox, paying $5 per unit for Dysport is roughly equivalent.
The manufacturers are currently offering rebates to incentivize patients. Dysport can last slightly longer and may therefore require 3 injections a year rather than the common 4 for Botox. This can result in substantial cost savings of 25%. When compare without discounts or rebates the difference in cost can be 5-10% in favor of Dysport.

I appreciate your question. Like Botox, Dysport is priced by the unit. The amount of units you will need depends on different factors like the severity of your wrinkle, the locations, and the way in which your muscles respond to the neuromodulator. I can tell you that a unit of Dysport is less than a unit of Botox, but you will need more Dysport to achieve the desired result. I strongly recommend choosing your injector based on experience and expertise rather than price. Superior results are worth every dollar.

In our practice Dysport is the main agent for wrinkles and frown lines. Why? It is cheaper by unit measure ($5 vs. $13-14), but you must give 2.5 times more units for Dysport. Dysport prices vary between different geographic markets and different providers in those markets, based on level of expertise. Most physicians charge between $3-5 per unit for Dysport injections. This is clearly much lower than the per-unit price of Botox, but this is because it requires 2.5-3 times as many units of Dysport to achieve the same effect as Botox, so in the end the price per treatment is actually very similar. Some providers will charge per treatment area rather than per unit, so it is important to ask how many units you will receive for a treatment area in order to accurately assess value. As always, I recommend having any injectable treatments performed by an expert physician injector with extensive training and knowledge regarding facial anatomy and aesthetics.

Dysport pricing will vary depending on the geographic market, local market conditions, and injector expertise. Most injectors will price Dysport from $3.50 - $5.00 per unit. Keep in mind while comparing pricing to Botox that Botox and Dysport units are not equivalent. Most injectors will equate 2.5 - 3 Dysport units to be equivalent to 1 Botox unit. 
Most of the time, Dysport and Botox will be priced relatively close to one another with respect to equivalent unit dosing. Some injectors will also price the products by injection area rather than by unit in order to avoid the unit discussion altogether.
