Lasting Solution for Droopy Eyebrows?

My eyebrow tails are exceedingly droopy. I've tried a forehead lift, the so-called "Russian threads", and mini lifts. The results, while excellent, have lasted for mere days! Is there a more lasting solution to this problem?

Brow Lift is a Lasting Solution for Droopy Eyebrows

The forehead lift and brow lift proceduresare designed for women or men who desire a more youthful and rested appearance through a surgical procedure; this is accomplished by surgically lifting the forehead, eyebrows and skin around the eyes. Candidates also have drooping eyebrows or “hooding” of the upper eyelids. Additionally, this procedure can correct deep furrows at the top of the nose (glabellar frown lines) through a removal or weakening of the specific fine... more

Open forehead lifts are very long-lasting

Although the longevity of endoscopic forehead lifts is not predictable, open brow lifts (whether hairline or coronal), if properly performed, have a longevity that exceeds that of most facial cosmetic procedures.

Brow lift

The problem with the "lifts" that you mentioned is that they rely on either a suture or skin to hold the brow in place which will ultimately fail.  I use up to 5 different techniques to lift the brow, depending on what the shape of the patient's brow is and what their goal is.  Make sure you see a board - certified plastic surgeon. Browlift: Forget the Gimmicks and Think About Real Solutions

The infamous thread lift was possible one of the worst ways to consider brow rejuvenation; not even a "nice idea".  Thankfully, it now sits in the wastebasket of cosmetic surgical gimmickry (don't worry, there's more to come.....).  An endoscopic or Trichophytic Browlift, if performed by a reputable Facial Plastic Surgeon, should be a very enduring procedure.  As a general rule of thumb, when a cosmetic procedure is heavily marketed with tags like "zero... more

Options for Droopy Brow Tails

In general, any well-executed browlift should last years. I would not consider the Russian Threads or any other non-incisional approach worthwhile. That being said, with many browlifts, especially subcutaneous trichophytic lifts or endoscopic browlifts, the central brow can stay high while the lateral brow relaxes with time, resulting in a quizzical expression. The key to a good temporal browlift is surgeon experience - the tail of the brow is much more difficult to control than the... more

Droopy tail of eyebrows after forehead lift

This is a common problem when the lateral brow is not fully released especially if they are very tight and adherent. With endoscopic forehead lift, the dissection should involve release of these tight tissues at the lateral eyebrow area to make sure the lateral brow is lift during the operation. Occasionally, a subcutaneous dissection is needed to assure adequate lift. If you are happy with the rest of the surgery, then you may consider having a subcutaneous lift of the lateral brow... more

A Coronal brow lift if done correctly should give you the results you are looking for and they should be very long lasting

If your brow lift lasted only a few days, it probably was not done correctly. With an open brow lift either in front of the hair line or behind the hair line, the surgeon is able to remove the small muscles between your eye brows which give you those deep wrinkles between your eye brows and pull your medial eye brows down. It also gives your surgeon an opportunity to elevate your lateral brow by lifting the lateral brow with the under lying tissues which is very long lasting. I would... more

Brow Lift for Drooping Brows

I would certainly talk with your facial plastic surgeon about your concerns. A well performed endoscopic or open brow lift is a lasting procedure which creates a more natural brow position for patients. From what you describe with several 'mini' procedures is typical - mini procedures often produce minimal results.

Browlifts Should Be Predictable and Long Lasting

Generally Browlifts are very predictable and long lasting for the treatment of droopy eyebrows and lateral upper eyelids.  The thread lifts that you refer to have fallen out of favor with most Board Certified Plastic Surgeons not advocating their performance.  Open (Coronal) and Endoscopic Browlifts are very predictable treatments for brow ptosis and lax eyebrows, with minimal side effects and a long history of very happy patients.  In some patients the lateral... more

Aggressive Browlift

Your experience with the thread lift is, unfortunately, all too common.  The thread lift was all the rage 4-5 years ago, but like "cold fusion" suddenly died when we figured out that the results didn't last.  There are other approaches to the brows that are tried and tested for decades.  They definitely work.  There are three approaches in a woman that can be helpful.  The classic bi coronal brow lift will raise your brows.  It allows free and... more

Transblepharoplasty brow lift seems to be long lasting.

I've been very happy with the transblepharoplasty brow lift using the Endotine fixation device.  The lateral brow (almost always the part that needs lifing) is lifted up off the bone using the upper eyelid incision.  A small, shallow hole is drilled and a fixation device is snapped into place.  This device works like a carpet tack.  The brow is suspended on the device at the proper level.  The device supports the brow while the tissues heal into place and... more

Consider a minimal or direct incision browlift

Hello, It is very common to have concerns with droopy eyebrow tails. My patients with this concern often refer to themselves as having "puppy dog eyes". There are several ways to lift and reshape the brows. I often discuss both the minimal incision and a direct incision browlift approach with these patients. There are pros and cons to each. With the minimal incision browlift, your surgeon makes tiny incisions in the hairline then lifts the brows... more

Brow lifts are a great solution for droopy eyebrows

Patients today have many options to change the shape and position of their eyebrows. A board-certified plastic surgeon will be able to assess your tissue and determine how much laxity you have and understand where you would like your eyebrows to be positioned. They will then be able to recommend a course of treatment to reposition the browse in a lasting fashion.

Solution for Drooping Eyebrows

A browlift, also known as a forehead lift, will raise your brows and reduce your ability to pull the brows down when you frown.  For minimal droopiness, an endoscopic approach can be very useful.  If your brows or forehead skin is very heavy or droopy, then an open browlift would be better.  Minimal procedures, such as threads, just cannot hold up heavier skin.

Browlift for droopy eyebrows

I am not exactly sure what kind of browlift you had. An endoscopic browlift can be helpful but a full open browlift will be a permanent change.

Longevity of a brow lift

A brow lift done open or endoscopically should give you long lasting results. My preference for lifting the "tail" of the brow would be a minimal incsion lateral browlift. This is combined with a corrugator (muscle) excision using an upper blepharoplasty incsion. This technique is very effective and consistant.

Brow Lift should last longer

Brow Lifts are a wonderful procedure in the right candidate. Pictures would help answer your question, but the short answer is that the surgeries should last longer than a few days. Even the short scar techniques will last a long time as they "scar in". Perhaps Botox could augment your result by weakening very strong forehead region muscles.

Mini Facelift and blepharoplasty

Hi, You may just require a good upper lid Blepharoplasty or a good endoscopic brow lift. Threading procedures where a nice idea but did not pan out. Consider one of the two procedures mentioned above. Best, Dr.S.

Be wary of Browlift procedures that promise more than they deliver

It sounds like you had procedures that were designed to be "non-surgical" or minimally invasive to lift your brows, and they didn't work. Brow lifts need to release certain anatomical structures to allow the brow to be raised. This can certainly be done with traditional open techniques, as well as endoscopic techniques when properly performed. But various types of thread lifts are notorious for big promises and negligible or temporary results. An endoscopic browlift is... more

Brow Lift is a lasting solution for droopy eyebrows

Endoscopic browlift is great for this. I have been doing endoscopic browlifts for ten years and love it because scar is minimal and results are permanent. Well done browlift separates the muscles that bring down the brows (procerus and corrugator muscles) from those that elevate (frontalis muscle) them. The brows come to their natural position. see video

Brow lift

Selecting the right procedure to correct a problem area is extremely important. Understanding the cause of the problem will help chose the right procedure. The open approach will give the most permanent and most powerfull pull. However you do not want a surprised look. The open approach can either place the incision witin the hairline, or in wide foreheads infront of the hairline. The choice also is affected by your hair style. Each procedure has its pros and cons your plastic surgeon will... more

Brow Lift for droopy eyebrows

Respectfully, the procedures you had were short cuts (no pun intended). The fact that there are multiple ways to lift the brows should tell you that no one way is always effective or indicated. The classic CORONAL brow lift is effective (incision over top of head from ear to ear) but results in shifting of the hairline backwards (not good in people with high foreheads) and numbness behind the incision. The PRETRICHIAL (Hairline) brow lift is used in those with high foreheads but also results... more

Browlifts usually last years, not days!

Most browlifts, whther open or endoscpoic are very effective at elevating the brows.  You may need  a more aggresive browlift, especially if none of the procedures you had so far were "open".

Endoscopic brow lift

Droopy eyebrows is a common sign of aging, with the tail part of the brow descending the most with age. While thread lifts are an option, this minimally invasive method is also minimally effective. Thread lifts are usually performed by nonsurgeons done with local anesthesia, with results being temporary. The best cosmetic surgery for the eyebrow is plastic surgery with an endoscopic brow lift, or endobrow. Endobrows are performed under IV sedation (twilight anesthesia) or general anesthesia.... more
