Drains After BBL?

I'm having BBL February 2013 my board certified PS does not use drains. I researched the PS also seen his before & after work which was great. I'm just a little concern because most of the PS on real self uses drains on their patients. My PS is in the US. Per the PS I will drain the 1st 24-72 hrs after the surgery. Little concerned please give feedback. Thanks in advance

Drains After Brazilian Butt Lift

I personally do not use drains after my Brazilian Butt Lift procedures. I think this is a safe alternative. Good luck.

Drains

I do not use drains after a brazilian butt lift. I am not sure why you would even need one or where it would be placed

Brazilian Butt Lift, drains

Drains are not typically used after the liposuction used in the Brazilian Butt Lift. A drain may be required if too much fat is injected into any one location causing an oil cyst. Do we need to second guess an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

No Drains for Brazilian Buttlift

Most plastic surgeons do not use drains after liposuction. The fluid usually drains through the portals of entry for a few days and that is the end of it. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA

Drains after brazilian buttock lift

Drains are not necessary after a Brazilian buttock lift procedure. Although some surgeons use them, most surgeons do not since the incidence of fluid collections (seromas) is extremely low. If you wear a good fitting garment after surgery there should not be a need for drains. Discuss this in more detail with your plastic surgeon if you have any further concerns. Best wishes, Dr.Bruno

No drains needed after BBL

Drains are not needed after a BBL. drains are usually necessary for butt implants or tummy tucks, but not BBL's as seromas are very rare after this procedure. Usually wearing the compression garment that your surgeon recommends is enough. Good luck and thanks!

No drains after BBL

I perform about 4 BBLs per week and don't use drains. Seromas have not been a problem for me. Each surgeon has his or her own preference and each uses slightly different techniques during a BBL surgery. Your surgeon should be able to explain why they do (or do not) use drains. see video

If a buttock augmentation is performed with a silastic implant, then I usually do place surgical drains. The fat transfer procedures usually don't result in larger open spaces, where fluid could accumulate, in an buttock implant procedure it usually does. However, in both cases I recommend wearing a compression garment for several weeks following the... more
