I had a revision Rhinoplasty with Silicon implant. There has been a clear yellow fluid draining from the incision site after 2 weeks where the implant was put in.The fluid is coming from the incision site in the middle upper of the nose.I remember there were 2 stitches in that area that was not remove but don't know what happen to it.I'm not sure if the clear yellow fluid is infection from the implant or the stitches if it's still there. Why is there fluid from my nose after 4 months of the revision with the implant. Is this an infection?

Drainage from silicone implant

Yellowish drainage from a silicone implant is a sign of infection - you should see your surgeon immediately and have the implant removed

Drainage after Rhinoplasty

Yellow drainge 4 months after placement of a silicone implant during rhinoplasty is probably secondary to chronic infection. Talk to your surgeon; removal of the implant and antibiotic therapy will probably be necessary. This is the reason we avoid silicone implants, electing to use the patient's own cartilage when possible.

Rhinoplasty with silicone implant

It sounds like you have an infection of your implant and it must come out immediately.  The implant can safely be replaced at some time after the infection is cleared but you should return to your doctor immediately.

Silicone Implant Infection

Hi, The implant is infected. What you have is a chronic indolent infection of the silastic implant. This can happen up to a year after implant insertion, although is is rare if the implant is placed properly under sterile conditions. The implant MUST come out and the infection treated with antibiotics. Once the infection clears ( 2 to 3 months), you can have another implant placed. Best of Luck, Dr.S.
