Is Dot Therapy Effective on Hyperpigmentation from Laser Resurfacing?

I had Laser skin resurfacing 4 years ago. I had really bad results. I have been struggling with hyperpigmentation ever since. I have done creams, Chemical peels, IPL but nothing helps. I am wanting to try dot therapy.
However, I am afraid of hypopigmentation! I have several hypopigmented spots from the IPL.I feel hopeless! Please say it my cure!
