Does Microdermabrasion Damage the Sebaceous Glands of Face?

I want to know details about how microdermabrasion prevents development of further acne. Does the procedure cause any damage or destruction of the sebaceous glands?

No damage to sebaceous glands

The sebaceous glands are too deep to be damaged by microdrmabrasion. Microdermabrasions affects on acne would stem due to its role in being a good means of desquamating the top layer of the skin. This "opens" the follicular orifaces (pores), leading to unclogging of the pores and decreasing the number of open and closed comedones ( whiteheads and blackheads).
